One of our own RealFitters, Mokhlisa Soliman, submitted a great question: "Does the 3-4 cups of coffee I drink a day effect weight loss in any way, either bad or good?
Coffee CAN be a culprit depending on what accompanies the coffee - meaning, what do you put in it? Sugar is a major cause of weight gain, so sweetened creamers & packets of sugar can add up. Artificial sweeteners can be even worse… Tune in to get the complete story on coffee & weight loss.
I’m totally taking your advice on the unsweetened almond milk but also I’ve been using light Agave what are your thoughts on Agave Nectar. By the way I joined you 50 workouts ago and just have to say Love it, love it, love you, I’m hooked. I started with spinning and moved on to all your other great videos, I even got my husband to do one!!
Jacque, I’m so happy you’ve explored some workouts beyond cycling! So thrilled to have you & your husband here! 🙂 As for agave, I will do a video on that one – along with more depth on artificial sweetener. I’ve been wanting to do that topic for awhile now so thanks for reminding me. My advice for now: agave is not all it’s cracked up to be. It actually is harder for your body to break down than sugar. I know that seems strange, but it’s also part of what makes “high FRUCTOSE corn syrup” so bad. yes, the corn – the GMO corn, but more-so, the fructose. Our bodies aren’t meant to break up large quantities of fruit sugar. If you don’t eat that many apples, then don’t eat the equivalent in sugar. make sense?
Interesting, that makes a lot of sense — makes me feel better to cuz that stuff isn’t cheep. I used to use honey but it made me to shaky. Just need to get rid of the sweet all together. (But it’s so hard), specially this time of year I like putting a small candy cane in my Christmas coffee. Anyway, thanks again!!
