Oh, breakfast. They say it's the most important meal of the day. Who's "they" is what I'd like to know.
Are you someone who wakes up hungry? Great, then eat.
Are you someone who wakes up & has no appetite for food and is just fine with coffee? Ok, then eat when you get hungry.
Some mornings I am hungry about a half hour after I wake up. Others, I don't get hungry for about 2 or 3 hours.
Want to know what I do? I wait to get a hunger signal from my body that it's time to eat.
I have let go of the habit of eating just because I "should." I am more in the practice of eating when my stomach growls & I am feeling that hunger kick in. It's an effortless, less obsessive way to keep my body weight, my health & my strength in check.
It's quite simple actually… just perhaps not as easy to practice when you may have spent years eating when & how you were told by the clock or someone else. What makes sense to YOU?
