Me, my team & our members have been put to the test over the last couple of months.
Our site has been down more times than we can count. It’s infuriating to say the least. And It’s been a grueling process trying to get the necessary systems in place to ensure this not only stops happening, but also doesn’t happen again.
Things are looking up. Solid solutions are now in place.
As pissed off as we’ve been about this entire process, it’s telling me something BIG. Something rather exciting actually… but, that’ll have to wait for a future email. As they say, all things happen for a reason. This is no exception. 😉
In the meantime, life continues to throw challenges my way.
And this one, I have accepted whole-heartedly: It’s called #22Kill
I was put to a 22 day push up challenge by one of my Corporate Wellness clients (thanks Craig! no, seriously… THANK YOU!) in an effort to raise awareness of the fact that an average of 22 American Veterans commit suicide every single day.
Not only is this something you know I feel connected to on a deep level, it’s also a way for me to honor these individuals who need our help. Asking for help has to be one of the most difficult things a soldier can do.
Think about that for a moment.
It’s easier for them to take their own life than to appear weak & vulnerable & in need of help. This is actually part of their training. It may be exactly what makes them such great soldiers & fighters.
And at the same time, it’s absolutely heart-wrenching.
In honor of these individuals, I decided that I will post (on our facebook fan page) a different variation of a push up every day for 22 days (today is day 6).
Day 1: Straight Push Ups
Day 2: Tricep Push Ups
Day 3: One Arm Push Ups
Day 4: Inverted Push Ups
Day 5: Plank to Push Up
Day 6: Diamond Push Up (I’ll post it later today!)
And every day I nominate someone new to help spread the strength & awareness that these veterans need so badly.
Watch Day 1 below...
Want to start your own challenge? Visit 22Kill.com for more information & do it today. In fact, if you are inspired, consider yourself nominated by ME to start your own 22 day push up challenge!
Post your video on our RealFit.tv Facebook page so I know you accepted the challenge!
P.S. No need to do all these crazy push up variations if you get nominated OR decide to start your own. Just a straight push up will do! Start on your toes & when you can’t do any more, go to your knees. If you are feeling adventurous, take my lead on one of the variations I do as part of my challenge!
Here’s a video I did awhile back on how to progress your push up.
