Oh. Em. Gee. The weather was amazing on Sunday!!! so got on our bikes, met up with my Mom & Dad & I got out for my first ride of the season.

This is one of my favorite ways to spend a Sunday & I look forward to sharing more pics with our new adventures over the coming months. 🙂

Here’s an awesome one that Steve took of me & my Dad. See, for him, there is no “first ride of the season” hahaha… he rides his Harley’s all year round. #hardcore #notme #theyusedtocallmeprincessforareason

If you’ve been following me for awhile, you know that this is my 2nd motorcycle (sv650). My first was a Buell Blast. I got my license 2 years ago when I turned 38. It was always on my bucket list, but other priorities (read: I didn’t hit certain goals) took over in my life, pushing this fun -in-my-blood- adventure further down the list.

For a long time I thought I had to work harder to “earn” this event.

But, here is why I stopped waiting & took the opportunity while I had the chance; when a special weekend training was being organized exclusively for my husband’s fire department (& wives!)

I realized that beating myself up for NOT hitting certain goals/benchmarks with my body or my life did NOT bring me closer to those goals.

In fact, when I practiced kindness with myself, that’s when I could SEE the opportunities that I had been denying myself for so long.

& simply put: “WHY WAIT!?!?” Life is happening NOW.

Question for you:
If you constantly tear yourself down, how will you maintain your goals even if you do indeed reach them?

This is what I’m talking about…

Let’s say you get to your elusive “goal” of being 130 pounds AND your mentality is “never enough” “not good enough” & you are a bit of a perfectionist.

What will happen is a complete NON-RECOGNITION that the goal was even attained.

In fact, your perfectionist filter will only see what’s wrong with you when you hit that goal, which tears you down, and then you’ll pin yet another goal on yourself keeping you from doing AWESOME things in your life - like getting your motorcycle license, or upgrading your car, or buying nice clothes for yourself… or…. Or…. or….

Watch the video above & see how tearing yourself down will NEVER get you to your ultimate best self. And the sooner you are aware, the quicker you can change that trajectory!

May this inspire you to do something AWESOME for yourself today... just because. <3

Post below & share it with me! What have you been “putting off until ____” ?

P.S. Tonight I am taking a big step in planning the next awesome thing I’ve wanted to do for myself - JUST BECAUSE. I am sick of waiting for the perfect body, for the perfect business, for things to be how I once envisioned them to be by the time I turn 40 - well, no more! And I look forward to the big reveal very soon 🙂
